Greyhound, a tall, slender dog, known for swiftness and keen sight, is generally considered by many pet owners, to be a wonderful pet. Greyhound puppy should be taken care with a greater degree of grandness.
A greyhound puppy must be fed with high-grade dog food, ensuring it gets sufficient proteins and fats. Meat can be a first choice ingredient for a greyhound puppy. For a healthy growth, ensure the puppy with a meal containing no more than 21 percent of proteins, refined fats higher than 20 percent and fiber, not more than 4 percent.

Though greyhounds are hunting dogs, teaching them not to chase cats and small pets at a younger age should prove useful to make the pet, a household one. They must be worn with coat, as they are very sensitive to cold weather. Moreover, the Greyhounds are sensitive to pesticides and medication. Consulting a veterinarian is advisable, before using any flea collar or any worm killing products.
Their coats, unique from other pets, remains clean even over a long period of time. But when needed, use a firm bristle to brush the coat. Trimming nails is prudent for every two to three weeks.
Excite the puppies, taking them for a walk everyday. Buy them chew toys, if you don’t want the puppy to chew one of your household items. Ensure your puppy with a soft bed, to avoid developing pressure sores sleeping on hard floors. Greyhounds are smart, intelligent and above all they are fast learners. Treat them right, reward yourself with a better companion than you can possibly imagine.
