Breed shows, a kind of dog show, in which a judge more familiar with a dog breed pronounces the best from its kind. Greyhound dog show is a kind of breed show. Many greyhounds are tested so as to term the best one of its breed. External qualities like appearance, movement and temperament of a greyhound are tested separately by conducting various tests like testing for abilities in specific work, dog sports, genetic health and general health. The greyhound dog that completes the necessary number of wins in the show is generally termed as the winner.

This show is not a comparison between two greyhounds but between a greyhound and the mental idea that a judge has about the greyhound breed. The judge chooses the one that closely resemble to his ideal one. The greyhounds in this show compete to earn points or earn certification towards the title of champion. The points depend on the level in the show and how many dogs are competing. This show is usually conducted in hierarchical fashion, where winners in low levels go forward and compete in next stage, until the final stage, where the winner is termed as the champion.
Greyhound shows are more common in United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa and in many more countries. Greyhounds are loyal, sweet and elegant. Apparently, these shows tend to interest many participators and spectators from all over the world. Devoted dog breeders are the main participators in these kinds of shows and the judges are usually those who are expertise with a specific breed.
